A few weeks ago when my friend Alisa was visiting we were chatting in the kitchen as I made myself a smoothie and she asked if I had any smoothie recipes on the blog. Uh, no, actually I don’t. Thanks for the idea Alisa!
Smoothies are my go to breakfast when I am running short on time, my afternoon snack before dinner and even for dessert when I am craving a sweet treat, which is pretty much everyday!
What You’ll Need:
1 cup chocolate almond milk. I like the Califia Farms brand. You could also substitute ½ cup unsweetened almond milk and ½ cup chocolate coconut water.
1 scoop protein powder. I use the Vega Protein Smoothie Choc-a-lot flavor for this particular smoothie because it contains 15g of plant-based protein and has 2 servings of vegetables.
½ cup frozen cherries
1 Tbsp. Cacao Nibs
¼ cup greek yogurt. I am loving the honey vanilla flavor of the Greek Gods brand right now.
Add all the ingredients to your blender with a handful of ice and blend until smooth.
Did you know cherries have the highest antioxidant level of any fruit or that they contain melatonin? Seriously, check out the health benefits of these delicious beauties!
I hope you love this recipe as much as I do. Have a great week!
