Happy Friday friends but SERIOUSLY, how is it the second week of February already? I feel like we were just shouting “Happy New Year!” last week.
I swear time goes by much quicker the older I get and I can’t believe it’s been about a year since I started blogging again. I was looking through past blog posts and was surprised to see that my most popular post of 2015 was a review I did of Wit and Wisdom’s Jeans titled Jeans for Mom, but not “Mom” Jeans.
I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised because finding the perfect fitting jeans is like striking fashion gold (can I get an amen?). Since I’m joining Narci from Grace and Love blog, Erika from A Little Bit of Everything and Andrea from Momfessionals for Friday Favorites, I thought I would share a few of my other favorite jeans with you.
First, a confession.
I used to be a denim snob. I think my love affair started when I was 10 years old and asked for a pair of Jordache jeans for Christmas and escalated to the holy grail of jeans – Guess when I was 15. I resumed my love affair as an adult and would only wear premium denim such as Paige, Joe’s and Hudson. When I left my job to be a stay at home mom however; budget sacrifices needed to be made and the first to go were my designer jeans. And guess what? I didn’t miss them!
It’s been at least 3 years since I purchased a pair of premium jeans. In fact, for me to even consider paying anything over $100 for a pair of jeans nowadays, they better make me look two sizes smaller and give me an ass like Pippa Middleton!
Just like the Wit & Wisdom jeans I praised last year, there are a lot of great options out there for jeans that you can scoop up that don’t break the bank. Most of the jeans I live in everyday cost me less than $50! Yes indeedy my friends. Let me show you!
So I’m sure you’ve noticed that distressed denim is really popular right now. I practically live in these Vigoss jeans right now. (My husband jokes that I paid extra for them to have rips and holes in them!) I wear them when I’m volunteering in Princess Dani’s classroom, in the evening, camping. Seriously, ALL THE TIME! I love this particular pair because they are the perfect combination of “Tomboy” fit (i.e. loose fitting) without being too baggy and “Skinny” without being too tight and uncomfortable. I wear a size 29 in them. At their regular price of $59 they would be a bargain, but I scooped these up a few months ago when they were 40% off and only $35.40. And guess what? They are on sale again! Do yourself a favor and pick yourself up a pair.
This is the second most worn pair of jeans in my closet and friends, I can’t tell you how giddy I was when I purchased them. First, I NEVER buy pants at Target. I could never find any that were long enough for my 5’9” frame. A few months ago however, Target was offering $10 coupon just for trying on a pair of their jeans. So I did and could not believe that they had a pair that actually fit me! These jeans have just the right amount of stretch that makes them very comfy to wear. I have them in the medium blue and black in size 10L (which is a 32” inseam). Their everyday price is $27.99!
This particular pair of jeans is most similar to the Wit and Wisdom but to me they seem to be a bit more slimming. They are junior sizing so if your no longer a junior such as myself, I suggest sizing up. I ordered the size 11 and they fit great. They are perfect with boots as they tuck in smoothly as well as flats. I also love the dark color. These are also a steal at their regular price of $39, but are on sale for 40% off, making them $23.40! Seriously, how can you pass that up?
So those are my favorites this Friday. I hope this little review helps you find the perfect pair of jeans without having to choose whether you pay your utility bill or buy a pair of jeans for yourself! It really is possible to find a great pair, with a great fit without sacrificing. Let me know if any of these work out for you! Have a great weekend.
