Good morning friends! I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. We started ours off with a fun BBQ with family and friends and ended it binge watching Season 2 of Narcos. I’m waiting for the hubby to get home so we can watch the last two episodes.
Labor Day is the unofficial end of summer and it got me thinking about all the fun things we did this summer. So here is a little re-cap of Bagalini Summer 2016.
We started our very first weekend of summer off with a stay-cation at the San Diego Marriott Marquis and Marina. It is a fabulous, family friendly hotel and we had the best time.
We attended San Diego Oysterfest and saw 3 of our favorite bands. My brother, sister-in-law and niece also stayed and we babysat for them Friday night while they attended Oysterfest, and they babysat for us Saturday night. It was perfect!
Dani and her cousin Emi also took swim lessons together at the same center and we couldn’t get enough of watching little Emi learning to swim!
In June, we also attended the San Diego County Fair. We basically eat our way through the fair and this year was no different. We tried chocolate covered bacon, the giant turkey leg of course, corn dogs, fried pickles and many more I’m sure I’ve chosen to forget.
For the 4th of July we opted for a BBQ at home by the pool.
Later that month all three of my boys and my Dad went on a 5-day long range fishing trip. It’s the first time all 4 of them have gone together and besides catching a lot of fish, they had a blast.
While the boys were away on their fishing trip Dani attended Karate camp and was able to earn her next belt. So proud of our little karate girl!
At the end of July Dani was scheduled to have surgery, but that ended up being cancelled, so this is what our days looked like for a couple of weeks
You get the idea right?
August kicks off our kid’s birthdays (Dylan August 14th, Dani September 14th, and Dustin October 14th) so we put our rally caps on and headed out for a fun day on the water for a pre-birthday celebration for Dylan. We had so much fun towing the kids around on the raft and surfing the wake. We pulled in to a really cool cove and had a picnic lunch. We definitely need to do that more often.
Last year we ended our summer with an amazing houseboat trip on Lake Powell and this year we ended it with a trip to Catalina Island as Dylan’s official birthday celebration. It was a great trip and I’m working on a post with all the details and pics so be sure to come back to check that out.
Summer 2016 is in the bag and it was a great one! I love having these memories with my family and am so grateful for the life we have.
