Hi there! I would say happy Monday, but really, is there such a thing? I’m a stay at home mom and even I dread Mondays when the hubby returns to work leaving me on my own with the kiddos (#outnumbered). Anyway, I hope you had a fun weekend or restful weekend, whatever you needed to recharge and face the week anew.
The hubby and I went away for a date weekend. Yep, an entire weekend. Friday to Sunday. Thank you baby Jesus! It’s a rare treat and I am forever grateful for parents that live so close and are able to hang with their grandkids and give us a much-needed break. You can read all about where we went and the fun activities we did on Friday and in the meantime, if you need to get up to speed, you can read about our last date night here.
Today marks the beginning of our 3rd week of summer vacation and I thought I would check on our Summer Bucket list and see how we are faring so far and I have to say, I think we are doing good.
Go to the fair – Check! Last Wednesday and I have to say I’m super proud that we outlasted our 16-year old son and his friends. NOT pictured are the chocolate covered bacon, corn dog and lobster bites that we devoured!
We also managed to go to an afternoon movie and I finished painting Princess Dani’s soon to be new room.
So the updated bucket list looks like this:
As I write this Sunday evening however; I have no idea what the plan is for this week. We just booked 2 trips for December so if anything gets done on the bucket list this week, it is going to be low-budget.
I also can’t believe the 4th of July is less than a week away. Be sure to check back later this week for an easy and yummy dessert that I like to make on the 4th AND can be made in the crock pot! Have I mentioned my love of crock pot recipes? If not, you can read them here, here, and here.
Don’t forget you can always follow along on our adventures on Instagram or Facebook. I’d love to hear what some of you are doing to keep you kiddos occupied during the summer and if you haven’t already read it you can check out my post on one of my daughter’s favorite activities here. Talk to you soon!
